Basheer Marakar

Basheer Marakar (aka KPM Basheer) has over three decades of journalistic experience writing on developmental, environmental and economic issues of his home State of Kerala in India. He has worked full-time for mainstream Indian newspapers such as The Hindu, BusinessLine and Indian Express. He studied journalism at the University of Maryland and trained at Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Washington Times and the Time magazine. He has won several international and national awards and fellowships for reporting.
