Purvi Patel
Dr Purvi Patel is a public health professional with over a decade of experience in climate and environmental health, disease surveillance, and health systems strengthening. She is a Visiting Associate Fellow at the Sustainable Futures Collaborative, working on health aspects of climate adaptation governance and policy. Previously, she served as a Senior Consultant to the National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, where she helped build health-sector responses to extreme heat and advance climate-resilient health facility measures. Her work has contributed to the expansion of national heat-health surveillance, development of State climate–health action plans, national guidelines and technical tools, and strengthening of multisectoral coordination.
She holds a master’s in public health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in the USA and a medical degree from India. She is an alumna of the India Epidemic Intelligence Service program administered by the National Centre for Disease Control.
